Aqueduct Shut-Down Notice

Aqueduct Shut-Down February 23 – March 5

WATER USE RESTRICTIONS WILL BE IN PLACE

The Valley Center Municipal Water District (District) has been advised by its wholesale suppliers, that from 8:00 a.m. February 23, 2019, through 8:00 p.m. March 5, 2019, the treated water aqueduct that delivers water to the majority of the District will be shut down to accommodate inspections, maintenance and repairs by the San Diego County Water Authority. As a result, water flow to the District will be severely restricted, beginning February 23, 2019, at 8:00 a.m. The water that remains in storage will be available only for domestic use and fire protection.

The District is asking our customers, located within the yellow area of the map, to refrain from all outdoor water use. No watering of landscapes, lawns, agricultural use, no use of construction water, no spraying of sidewalks or driveways, no washing of vehicles and no filling of fountains, pools, spas or ponds will be permitted. Please remember to turn off all outside irrigation/lawn timers during the water use restriction time period. You are allowed to use water for the watering of livestock.

Normal water use will resume after 8:00 p.m. on March 5th. During the 11 day restricted water use period you can check our District website http://www.vcmwd.org for more information and updates regarding the aqueduct shutdown or contact the District office at (760) 735-4500.

Si necesita comunicarse con alguien en español llame Gabriela Olson (760) 735-4511.

Your cooperation during the water restrictions is critical and appreciated and will ensure sufficient water availability to meet domestic use and fire protection.
